10 months old

Happy New Year, Bean. And happy 10 months too. Double-digits-YAY!

Things have been crazy lately. You seem to turn into a new baby every single day and it’s definitely keeping us on our toes. The rate you are growing and changing is astounding. Every month that passes, I say how fast you are growing, but I had no idea until this month.

Especially the last two weeks. Maybe it’s because I had the opportunity to spend so much time with you since I’ve been off work, but I have really become aware of every little change.

First off, your personality is exploding. You are such a social butterfly and LOVE being around as many people as possible. When you meet someone new and I am holding you, you do that cute, “I’m a shy baby thing” where you turn your head and nuzzle into my shoulder. Then, two seconds later, you are waving “hi” and reaching for them to hold you. I use to think it was so sweet the way you reached out for your mommy and daddy to hold you. Now, I realize you pretty much will do it for anyone. Sigh.

You are such a happy little girl, but you are figuring things out at such a rapid pace that your mood changes in an instant. So many times, you will crack yourself up, then a second later you are screaming and crying. I think I am catching a glimpse of what my life will be like in 13 years.

You have also become extremely animated. Your faces and actions are so expressive, it’s hilarious. It’s like you figure out how to make a new face and then you make it non-stop for days. Like when we first went to Florida, you went through the “scrunchy-nose” phase. This one charmed the pants off everyone you met.

But since we left, that has been replaced by the “stink-eye”. Again, another glimpse into our future 13 years from now. Apparently when you are only with mom and dad, you don’t need to work the charm.

Luckily for us, it usually always end up back to a sweet smile.

Well, sometimes.

Other excitement this month:

Your first two teeth grew in. Now you look like an adorable, little jack-o-lantern. I love it.

You eat EVERYTHING and ANYTHING we put in front of you. You use to be a little picky, but not anymore. You are still loving jarred food, but finger foods are now your food of choice. Some of your favorites include: steamed veggies (peas, asparagus, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower) cubed or mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, tofu, chicken, turkey, pancakes, naan, bananas, blueberries, pears. You also LOVE your puffs and mum mums. Honestly, there is not much that you wont eat. As a matter of fact, we can’t eat anymore in front of you unless you are eating too. Otherwise, it’s mass, baby pandemonium.

You started crawling while we were in Florida and now we can’t keep you still. Seriously, ever since we got back you haven’t stopped moving. Life with you will definitely never be the same. You have no interest anymore in staying in one spot.

Also, I think it’s official, you have my hazel eyes. You also have your father’s eyebrows and you still have your bald spot/mullet combo working. But somehow you are still the most beautiful creature ever.

Thanks for another great month, Q. Give yourself a round of applause, you deserve it.
