When I was a very young boy, I didn’t understand the mechanics or the technology of how television worked. I was under the impression that the audible laughter heard on sitcoms from the laugh track was the laughter of those watching TV at home. One day I turned to my mother and said, “Let’s laugh…
I once asked my dad when color was invented after watching some old black and white baseball footage on TV with him. He was confused and I said, “There is no color on all the old things I see on TV. So, when did they finally invent color?”
I don’t know if my dad remembers this conversation, but for some reason I do. And I still think it’s funny when I think of him quietly chuckling and shaking his head at me.
