Jeremy and I just got back from an amazing 4 day vacation in Newport, Rhode Island so that I could run the Amica Newport Marathon (ugh).
It was a wonderful, child-free retreat filled with crisp, fall, ocean air, seafood galore, (it just happened to be the same weekend as seafood festival-hello clam chowder and lobster rolls!) lots of walking, lots of running and lots of beer drinking.
There was also a lot of sleeping. We missed Miss Q so much, but man, it was nice to have a big, cozy hotel bed all to ourselves for 3 nights. The first night we were there, we slept from 9:30pm-8:30am. Heaven.
I will bore you soon with a long-winded race report of my brutal marathon that only a handful of people care about, but for now, I wanted to post a few pics here of our trip. Because, while the point of going was the race (and the race kind of sucked) the rest of the trip totally made up for it.
A special thanks to Grandma for watching Q for 4 days so we could get away. You have no idea how much we appreciate it. Jeremy and I just got back from an amazing 4 day vacation in Newport, Rhode Island so that I could run the Amica Newport Marathon (ugh).
